Some of the greatest inventors in the world like Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, The Write Brothers etc have helped change the world one way or the other, and we think we have found our own Nigerian scientific savior.
BattaBox presenter Odunayo meets and discusses with Nigeria’s youngest inventor Timilehin Daomi who has created a Vacuum cleaner, a Water Fountain,a Pumping Machine among many other things using scrap materials like pipes, bottles cups etc.
“Before doing anything, i draw the plan,” says Timilehin
Odunayo spoke to his father who Barrister Daomi about his son’s creativity and how he discovered he had a scientist within his home.
“I wanted my children to be lawyers,” says Timilehin’s father “I discovered he started spoiling things,” he continues
Timilehin further shows Odunayo how his inventions work, and what he used to make them.
“This is interesting, i’m really amazed,” Odunayo exclaims as Timilehin shows her all the things he’s built

This boy is the future of technology in Nigeria
I am so impressed by this young man and am certain he will go on and
achieve many things in his life. It was wonderful to see him smile as he
demonstrated his inventions and explained how they work. He is an all round
achiever with a creative mind, he plans, he puts his plan into action using
the simplest of materials and he has accomplished things that seem
unachievable. Parents are often convinced that academic ability is the only
way forward in life – Yes this is the case for some but not all. Where
would we be if there were only thinkers and no do- ers.The Architect needs
the labour of the Mason or there could be no building. Well done to this
young inventor, his brilliance makes him truely a STAR – I understand why
his father appears proud. I feel I have seen a glimpse into the future.
Nigeria has a lot and I mean a lot of talented individuals. I’ve had the
opportunity to school with most. However, our parents kill our dreams too
soon. Growing up I was fascinated with art especially. I wanted to try and
establish Nigeria’s very own animation industry in hopes that it would
spread across Africa, then the world because we have great stories to tell.
That would not only benefit the people to pursue art, but it would have
helped the economy as well. Even tourism would have increased because I
would have showcased our beautiful culture a lot.
Story short my parents forced to pursue science, anyways now I’m going to
be a lab scientist.
Typical selfish people. they don’t follow your dreams ,sees you and your
idea as a waste of time and energy but as soon as other people see it and
you blow up their now all of sudden your biggest fan taking credit saying
they encouraged you and lead you to that path.
Let him stay in nigeria because their was an african student who commit
suicide at his university in America because the professor stole his work.
Let nigerians keep the smartest kids in nigeria so that they can build
their country and make it a better nation:)
I highly appreciated your last message which was that parents need to
encourage their children in realizing their abilities.. alot of nigerian
parents need to hear that, so that they can focus on their children
individuality and stop comparing them to other children… 🙂 thank you for
