Recently, a woman died in Nigeria due to constant abuse and domestic violence from her husband, leaving behind her two beautiful children. But we wonder why neighbors do not intervene when they sense abuse happening next door.

“If your husband beats you well you will change,” says one woman

With the surge of domestic violence in Nigeria, BattaBox presenter Timothy asks some people on the streets of Lagos – Would you intervene if you hear your neighbor beating his wife? Some of their replies were alarming…

“Some women don’t know how to cook,” says one woman replies who tries to justify domestic violence

“Beating your wife is like beating yourself,” replies one man

But sometimes, people do not like to get involved in couples business even when the woman in question is being abused.

“The best thing is to invite the police to intervene,” replies one lady

The girl with the glasses at 1:17 sounds like a fool!!! If a woman doesn’t
cook she deserves to be beaten? She sounds like someone has cracked her
upside her head a few times!!!

what a hell is that girl with braids talking about? She will be perfect for
Chris Brown. No matter what, a man is not allowed to hit a woman.

Nigerians and their wahala. . .I have stated this time and time again. .
.Violence is a part of our society. . .Its is part of our DNA. Until we
eschew violence the problem will never be solved! In our schools we are
thought that violence is the only way when a person commits an offence,
when a junoir student offends a senoir student the only answwr is violence,
a students offends a teacher same thing, violence, when a younger
brother/sister offends an elder brother/sister the answer is violence many
parents encourage their elder siblings to discipline the younger ones with
acts of violenve. . .Child offends parents, violence. . .Violence permeates
our society. . .We encourage it every where. How do we expect it not to
manifest in our homes. . .The society has thought us right from school and
from our homes that if any subordinate offends you beat him/her up, we
carry the same violence to our homes and offices. . .why won’t there be
excessive violence when the society teaches us that it is the only way to
solve our problems when our subordinates offend us?

That woman with the braids wearing glasses is pretty but she’s crazy if she
really believes the things she’s saying it makes me wonder maybe she’s has
been abused or witnessed it in her household as a child.

How about when your neighbor is beating her husband, women are not the only
victim of domestic violence…some men go through the same heat but because
of the way our society is taught is that only women can be real victim of
domestic violence which is a fraud… if a man complain of being physically
abused by his wife then he is not man enough, people would laugh at him and
pretend like he don’t exist. do your research battabox
