BattaBox presenter Adeola brings you culture at its natural best as speaks to Mrs Nike, one of the faithful servants of Osun, the river goddess in Yoruba land, she recounts how Osun has changed her life.

“Immediately i got to Oshogbo, my life changed,” says Mrs Nike “I came here with nothing,” she continues

Osun was one of the wives Sango, the Yoruba god of thunder and she is known for providing the needs of people and changing their lives for good.

“Now i own three or four houses, four or five cars etc,” she recounts

The Osun river flows southwards throughout Yoruba land and thousands visit the river every year to receive blessings from the deity, especially during the annual Osun Oshogbo festival which happens in august.

Jesus over Osun….If he arrived there, he would walk on that water and
join the goddess in prayer…and she would take a vow to honor and follow
    him…….

I wonder when this Abrahamic god started to interact with humans. Did he
begin only with this species Homo sapien sapien, us? What about the
Neanderthals, Homo sapiens and the other species before? Did they believe
in this same Abrahamic god also? Did he give them a book of laws, as well?
If only with us, why just the Jews and only in their specific language,
when there were other peoples populating this planet? Is he then not a
discriminating god? So mankind had to wait until the Romans invade and
occupy Judea for the Catholic Church to embrace this knowledge and then to
translate and disseminate it to their people and those in other European
lands? And only on invading West Africa for slaves and on the colonists’
domination, impose it on the indigenous people? Where were the Chinese and
Indians in all of this? Were they not God’s people too? That is the way
this god did it? Then surely he is a cruel God. Every civilization has
their creation story, their gods and goddesses, their beliefs. The question
    is, is it true?
