How to be a Waste Collector in Nigeria

Today on The Hustle, BattaBox presenter BollyLomo works as a street scavenger. He goes to the street to pick up waste materials that could be recycled, for sale.Some of the materials they pick up are empty milk containers, plastic bottles, etc

“Someone’s waste is another person’s precious gold”

After picking the waste materials, he then proceeds to the scrap yard to select the important stuff,crush it, weigh it and sell it for some cool cash, which ranges from N900 ($3) upwards, depending on how much work you can do in a day.

“All these things you throw away, people make a lot of money off it,” says Bolly

And sometimes one could even find something of importance like a piece of jewelry.

The Hustle helps us appreciate the little menial Lagos jobs people do for little income.
