Make A Way foundation held a charity event in New York City to raise money for Nigeria and Haiti. And BattaBox was there to ask – how much is too much to give to a Nigerian charity? And we got some hilarious answers!

“Our foundation wants to help make a way for those who can’t find a way,” says Make A Way Foundation founder Hannah Simone. “In Nigeria, they have economic issues, the girls coming home, and so many other topics happening.”

The event was a blast with live music, original Naija food, and plenty plenty people!

“It is the season to give,” says BattaBox Presenter Lolade as she everyone who was attending the event how much they would give. One Nigerian man would give the shirt off his back, and another the shoes off his feet, but perhaps the most surprising was someone giving their gold watch to Nigerian good cause.

“How much is too much to give to Nigeria?”

“I don’t think that wealth has been amassed yet by one person,” says one Naija guy. “But I just hope that whatever is given, is used in the right way.”

Nothing is too much. It’s a pity that most of these charity organizations
enrich themselves with the fund meant for the poor. I would rather go home,
look around, pick families that are really in need and donate my stuff
    personally.

When it “hurts” it’s too much.

I typically give what I can deduct from my taxes.
