Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has banned the importation of second hand cars from Benin into Nigeria.

A large percentage of the people of Benin earn a living through trading second hand cars across the Seme Border, so BattaBox sent our Benin Republic presenter, Harrison to find out-

How President Buhari’s ban on second hand cars from African countries into Nigeria, is going to affect them.

“What do you think about the ban?” Harrison asks.

“We are really deceived,” one man answers.

“It is shocking…because a country cannot do without foreign trade,” another laments.

How do you feel the ban will affect Benin and Nigeria?

Is it a good thing for the currently struggling Nigerian economy?

Thanks for watching!

Why is the guy at the begining of the video saying that he will do
everything he can to export cars to Nigeria? Who is he? Does he know what
it means to respect the laws of Nigeria? His statement rubbed me off the
    wrong way

Banning is a wrong way to go. Just tax the cars heavily to the make the
    cars competitive.

I would like to see African countries create and manufacture their own car

the problem of politics in Africa is everybody wants to be in political
position or even be a president even when they have no cue abouts modern
days governance and politics, for example, I have asked some white guys that
they will be the next president in their countries many of whom said no,
because that’s not their area of specialization so they cannot delve into
what they know not idea about, but just ask any Nigerian for example,
instantly he/she will be praying for confirmation of It, that of course he
wants to be even the president, even when he know that he/she has no idea
of governance, Buhari have no idea of modern days governance and politics
that is while the country is like this, if people know the right thing to
do enter that position now within 3 months all those severe recession will
be over, the problem we are having now is Buhari and co they didn’t what to
do about this hard time, imagine him banning vehicles from entering
    Nigeria.
