On Episode 10 of conversations with Labo, Labo Daniel sat down with Lala Akindoju, Trail blazer award winner at Africa’s biggest movie awards (AMVCA’) and they talked primarily about mentorship.

Lala is an Actor, Producer, Casting Director, Drama instructor and Host, who started out in the entertainment industry without knowing a single person, and is now friends with everyone who matters in the industry.

“I’m a hustler, I don’t quit, I don’t stop, I don’t take No’s, If I want something I will get it”.

She gives details on how she has been able to strategically position herself to work with some of the greatest minds in her industry such as: Tunde Kelani, Kunle Afolayan, Taiwo-Ajayi Lycett and Joke Silva.

“I don’t believe in asking for favours, I believe in getting there with the work, even when people started talking to me about PR, I was like, we can’t do PR for PR’s sake, It must be on the shoulders of the work.”

She also gives never been shared details on how she developed close knit mentorship relationships with achievers like Bolanle Austen Peters, Jumoke Adenowo, Biola Alabi, Osayie Alile, Funke Bucknor (Did we mention that she put Funke Bucknor on blast?…Shh…)

“I’m an all or nothing person. Mentorship is like work, I believe one of the keys to greatness is mentorship”…Mentorship is not about frolicking with big women.

And Labo didn’t let her go without asking of her opinion on male and female best friend relationships.

I really do not recognize this battabox. It was once my haven for stories
and news. I guess we as the bible states, ” Study to show you are self
approved.” Blessing Odun and gang, I shall drop in from time to time to see
if you have found your feet again.
