Whether it’s an engagement, a wedding, a burial or a 50th, 60th or 80th birthday party, something is always happening and for most of these parties – You need to buy aso ebi.
Aso ebi?
Aso ebi is a uniform style of dress in which a group of people all wear a certain style or fabric for a particular event.
For example the bride’s family wear gold and ruby ankara and the groom’s family dress in emerald.
Or the children of a deceased man wear blue and the grandchildren wear purple.
Nigerians spend tens of thousands of naira on aso ebi every week, month…but the question is what do you do with the clothes afterwards?
Our presenter, Odunayo asked the people of Lagos…
What they do with their old aso ebi.
Firstly…”How often do you buy aso ebi?” Odunayo asks.
“Every month, I have plenty parties,” one lady boldly replies.
“What do you do with your old aso ebi?” Odunayo asks passers by.
“When I get new ones, I give the old ones away because the design is now old,” one lady explains.
“What’s the most expensive aso ebi you have bought?” Odunayo puts the question to the streets.
“I don’t buy anything above N5000,” one man says.
“N2000 or N2500,” one woman replies.
How often do you buy aso ebi?
How much do you spend and what do YOU do with your old aso ebi?

hahahhaa..
just thinking on average they buy 1500 worth every month what if they use
that money for health insurance every month maybe quality of health in
Nigeria would be far better. just thinking… while aso ebi is good, most
market people dont know their limit and they end up spending their capital
all in the name of aso ebi and you hear them say “igba mi mo n ru” my goods
display is getting leaner. anyway we have to stimulate the economy one way
or the other
beautiful ladies.
Educate your foreign viewers please, what is an Aso Ebi?
These people will have money for Aso Ebi but can barely provide for self.
False living.
That aso ebi is just a fucking waste of money and then they will be
complaining that there is no money after wasting it. If they invested that
money it will at least be part of something but they will be complaining
and begging and after collecting all the money from people suffering
abroad, they will use it to buy aso ebi
I notice the toilets in the background that Bollylomo had to clean. Not the
first time or even the second time you’ve filmed there!
where are the trains,,
