Electricity in Nigeria is non existence, and Nigerians have gotten used to this fact by providing power supply for themselves, using generators and inverter batteries which are money consuming. But did you know you could generate light with potatoes?
“I don’t pay NEPA bill at home,” says Mr Alabi
Battabox presenter Adeola discovered and spoke to this brilliant man Alabi Olusola who generates electricity for himself and his household, using Sweet Potatoes. He shows us what he uses and how it is done.
“Banana can also generate electricity,” he explains to Adeola
Talking to Adeola about how he came about creating this invention, he stated – “I know when you add positive and negative, it’s going to give you light,”
Alabi Olusola has been working on this project for about six years only just got his invention to work this year.

BattaBox is the most exciting Nigerian News & Entertainment Video channel based in Lagos. We are the fact behind Nigerian Movies fiction, Nollywood in real-life with a dash of Yoruba Movie Magic – but none of our videos are made-up like Nollywood – they are all true stories!
BattaBox is Nigeria Like You’ve Never Seen Before!
SHARE this video with friends and family.
Like I stated, have returned from vacationing. Watching the videos from
before to catch up. This is Africa’s present. No more talking about the
future. God has that covered for us. Let us elect normal people to office,
then spend money on development and deliberately fund education and
research. Then implement the research’s results.
Yes. It is real.
but where are they going to grow them potatoes.
I’d like to create something with Adeola ??
Not to kill his buzz but we have all done this in secondary school nothing
new.
You should have showed us how he powers his house !!!
GREAT JOB!
Potato will now become expensive. Great concept though.
The playlists have been grrreat! I’ve been able to decorate parts of the
house listening and occasionally watching the vidoes one after the other
.Thanks everyone!
I was watching a video yesterday and this guy from Lagos swears he just
invented gunpowder and how it will one day be used in something called a
‘gun’.
