Save A Life This Christmas

Many Nigerians know someone that has been affected by cancer in some way.

Whether it’s a loved one or an acquaintance – a colleague or celebrity, Cancer impacts lives.

According to the World Health Organization – Nigeria needs at least 170 cancer centres to properly care for those in need of cancer treatment.

How many does Nigeria currently have? 2!

The St Cyril’s Cancer Treatment Foundation has stepped in to fill the void, offering approximately 6000 treatments a year in radiation and chemotherapy for cancer patients, 50% of which are indigent and would have received minimal or no treatment at all if such foundations did not exist in Nigeria.

The Foundation has successfully managed to reduce the number of cancer deaths by providing well-equipped facilities and trained staff to provide chemotherapy and internal radiation therapy; additionally, St. Cyril also works closely with numerous cancer non profit organizations in Nigeria to ensure all patients sent their way receive adequate treatment to give them the best possible chance of survival and the healthiest, highest quality of life.

So according to a consultant at St.Cyril called Antonia Showunmi only God
knows the true cause of cancer then you’ll question why there are people in
Nigeria will go to their pastor instead of seeking doctor/medical advice
when ill. It’s a damn shame.

I am so, so, so glad to see Battabox bringing awareness about breast cancer
to Nigerians…And I am equally glad to see that a man spoke about his
experience with breast cancer because this is NOT just a “woman’s”
disease. My mother and her mother( my maternal grandmother) are both breast
cancer survivors so genetically it runs in my family so I make sure to get
my yearly mammogram and I regularly perform self checks in the shower…
This is a cause that hits close to home for me and I pray to see the day
when breast cancer, actually all cancers are eradicated…P.S– Odun, I
    love that “TWA” on u….
