Over 18 MILLION Lagosians lack access to clean water.
So many Nigerians have decided to take matters into their own hands and drill boreholes in their compounds so that they can have access to clean water; the Lagos State government recently implemented a law restricting Nigerians from drilling their own boreholes.
So BattaBox sent Kayode out and about to find out from Nigerians how they feel about the new law.
Here are some of their interesting answers…
“Do you have access to clean water?” Kayode asks.
“We have but we drilled the borehole by ourselves.”
“Most of the water is what we produce by ourselves.”
Do YOU have access to clean water?
Thanks for watching!

poorest country in the world
Unreliable electricity, bad roads, petro and food shortages, subpar health care, rising school fees and lack of work,a housing market that the average Nigerian can’t afford and now the government is putting regulations and restrictions on accessing clean water??!! How much more can Nigerians take? Why does the government have such a choke hold on it’s people??? Why?
It breaks my heart that the Nigerian people are still struggling and suffering due to the lack of water and even electricity. The government in NIgeria is so unqualified to do their job. Unbelievable !!
This is from the outside looking in. Unity is the key for revolution (peaceful) but how can that be when people seem so deeply divided by class, religion, tribe, native science etc. How do you get all of those unite to fight a system that can oppress/kill you and no one would know. I think its time for those of us abroad to stop letting these so-called leaders hide in America and uk while their citizens suffer abroad. Like the woman who goes out looking sharp while her children are at home starving. They should be reminded every day of how the cheat their people and then come to the West bragging and calling themselves dignitaries. There is nothing dignified about oppression. Shame on the Nigerian Govt. So you want all of your citizens to die so you can keep the lions share of $$$$$$???????
Just get the necessary permission to drill a borehole, simple. Some Nigerians always have an issue with doing things according to the law. Although the six month jail term is excessive in my opinion.
such ignominy!!!
Ok, Nigerians. So, when are you going to grab your balls and insist on a government formed for the people; of the people; and by the people in order to pursue health, life and liberty?
Water is now a commodity, no different than oil. Those who can’t afford it will have to do without it. The funny thing is that every drop of water that was on the earth since its creation is still here! Water can’t be used up. We drink it and then urinate it or sweat it out. We boil it and the vapor going in the sky and fall down as rain or snow. We freeze it and it simply melt at some point. There is water galore under ground everywhere. Khadafi knew there was water under the desert and he had a plan to make the dessert a green oasis. Water aquifers are the purist water on Earth and they are underground everywhere. Stop allowing these dirty politicians and bankers to fool you with this water scarcity scam.
