African parents have a variety of different ways of disciplining their children – from spanking, frog jumps, or even just a roll of the eyes make sure the children behave.
BattaBox presenter YP Fluorin hits the streets of Lagos to find out the ways Africa parents discipline their children.
“When my mum wants to say – don’t do that! – she won’t say it, you get home first but she will look like this. And, she might be old, but if she runs she will catch you,” says one young Nigerian girl.
“My mum has a gentle style, but my father would catch me adn beat me well well,” said one Nigerian man. “When children are disciplined, they are corrected.”
But it’s not just spanking with hands, shoes, spoons, or brooms! Some Africa parents have special talent in not spanking, but instead using body language, such as just a simple expression or narrowing of the eyes. Other parents make their children use frog jumps or other physical punishments.
“Ah my mum gave me every type of punishment – frog jump, sit on the wall, and all those other ones – African parents can be wicked!”

Brother….i didnt skip ad….wakanda foreva!!!
Well considering how they treat thieves and criminals with the jungle justice Iβm not surprised that they beat their children which is probably just as unacceptable.
Diana Connors out of point you did not get the message.
NOTORIOUS CRUELTY,, TYRES BURNING ETC.
General Nwankwo …..yes I do get the point, I believe that the majority of Nigerians struggle with an over populated country and poverty and often itβs the children that suffer the brunt of their parents depression and frustration of not being able to provide for their children…actually I do believe that children need discipline but with limits to punishment I believe that children should respect you but NOT be afraid of their parents or be beaten into submission, I donβt see the humour in this subject and Iβm sure the children donβt see the humour in corporal punishment……thank you sir for your reply.
yep jungle or mob justice is still going on in africa as well as FMG… sad
