There is always a new fashion trend women in Nigeria adopt everyday. Today, Battabox presenter Adeola has discovered a new trend – Eyebrow Tattoo.

“It is called temporary laali (henna) eyebrow,” says Timilehin, one of the eyebrow tattoo vendors.

Adeola visits the popular Yaba market in Lagos which is also known as the local fashion hub of Lagos, where ladies get themselves fashionable items to look pretty.

“This is a beauty place, everything can be done here,” Adeola says

In Yaba market you could get your hair done, nails, make up, cloths, shoes, bags and what have you, you could even get a gap tooth in Yaba market. But the new trend now is ladies getting their eyebrows tattooed to save themselves the stress of drawing the perfect eyebrow.

“I prefer this one because it doesn’t take time,” says one lady

But what exactly is the difference in the tattooed eyebrow and the normal one drawn with pencil? Adeola asks the lady getting her eyebrows tattooed

“I’ve done it before, it lasted two weeks,” the lady explains.

Deola doesn’t know Ewe Laali. it’s a leaf not chemical, I think they do
extract and solidify it to make the Tanco he mentioned. if you’re a Yoruba
your grandma probably has one of those old tattoo that’s what they used
with a pin for permanent, they also use it to extend their eyelashes.
Hausa/Fulani use it for temporal beauty tattoo. Islamic students or clerics
also use it as ink to write

Why do they shave the eyebrows in the first place? Eyebrows serve an
important function of trapping dust and dirt from entering the eyes.
