Can You Travel to Space in a Nigerian Rocket?

Nigeria has at least two space agencies and has launched rockets into space. Would you travel in a Nigerian rocket to space?

The national Nigerian space agency is National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), based in Abuja. It has launched 5 satellites and worked with the UK, China, USA, and Ukraine since it was founded in 2001.

“Me? Travel in a Nigerian space rocket? When there are planes crashing up and down?” laughs one Nigerian business man.

“I don’t trust Nigerian rockets!” says a Lagos trader.

Nigeria has even announced plans to send an astronaut into space by 2030, which would make Nigeria the first African nation to put a person into space.

“The space program is very important,” said Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology, during a speech in the capital city Abuja. “Space is a major asset that Nigeria must be involved in for the purpose of protecting national interests.”

The challenge, seems to be getting Nigerians to agree to go to space!

“The Nigerian government should take that money and help people who are struggling with poverty,” says one Nigerian woman.

“A Nigerian-made rocket? Technologically, we are not there yet. It’s unusual and I don’t think that will work.”

If we can’t make pencil in Nigeria what makes you think that we will make rocket to take you to space. If you ask me that rocket will take you six feet to your grave.

Nope you are confusing yourself. She just asked if you will travel to space in a Nigerian made Rocket? Nigeria don’t have the money and technology to build an aircraft let alone spacecraft.

honeybee Yes she said Nigeria just launched a rocket. Please where is the evidence of the launch. I don’t trust it works. Hope she is not calling the toy drone PMB and GEJ launched at different times rockets. Nigerians don’t have steady power supply, water, good road and transportation nah rocket we go come produce? Just think about it very well.

This is a bunch of lies, Nigeria don’t have vectors nor launching platforms nor the knowledge to build them nor the money to invest in them. By the way why do you show a space shuttle from the USA if you supposedly launched a rocket? Why don’t you show your own launching?
