Whether it’s through dieting, exercise or both, it is important for you and I to keep fit and healthy.

Many of us know about fancy gym memberships, fitness classes…but have you ever noticed those men and women on the roadside in Nigeria lifting humongous weights?

Well we have, so we sent BollyLomo to Iyana Ipaja street gym to find out more.

“As you can see I’m in in my sporty attire looking strong, looking sexy and looking very brave,” Bolly says.

“This is the gym where they don’t carry weight, they carry cement, they don’t take supplement, they eat eba…I’m going to find out how they work out in the streets, let’s find out how it’s done!” Bolly exclaims.

]]> Our presenters, Lolade and BollyLomo, attended the BIGGEST FITNESS EVENT in Lagos – Fitfam – to get fit for January.

Lots of fitness enthusiasts, personal trainers and men and women that are just trying to get fit and look and feel their best turned up to sweat the day away.

The event not only promoted exercise but also healthy eating.

“It’s amazing! I feel like we are slowly becoming more conscious of what we are putting into our bodies and how we are taking care of our bodies,” one young lady explained.

There were many different vendors on site that provided food, personal trainers and sportswear. It was a “one stop shop for everything fitness in Lagos”.

]]> Education is a priceless gift to an individual and to humanity, so on the back of the ugly socio-political and economic situation of Nigeria, the high population density; particularly the youth population and gross unemployment, a vision was hatched by the Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan, South West Nigeria.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan developed a Centre where youths from all works of life can be trained in agriculture and entrepreneurial development with particular emphasis on fishery, computer operations, catering, vocational and entrepreneurial skills. Fully supported by the Archbishop Emeritus, Most Rev. Dr. Felix Alaba. The vision was established on a solid foundation.

Oluponna Fish farming Education and Resource Foundation popularly known as ‘OFFER Centre’ is a non-governmental organization which started in 2006.

It has touched the lives of so many youths across the length and breadth of Nigeria making them citizens that are more self reliant, creative, solving problems and contributing to the socio-economic development of their communities and the country at large.

Its subsidiary, OFFER Centre Institute of Agriculture was approved in 2015 by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Federal Ministry of Education awarded Ordinary National Diploma certificates for its programmes in Agriculture as an Innovative Enterprise Institute.

OFFER Centre has attracted numerous scholarships for its students by virtue of its contributions. The Centre also enjoys a healthy relationship with local and International Agencies and Organisations in order to broaden her horizon so as to enhance the human capacity development of its beneficiaries.

The continuity and sustainability of this vision is passionately shared by the current Archbishop, Most Rev. Gabriel Ojeleke Abegunrin.
