With Trump closing in on Hilary’s narrow lead and the race to the White House almost at it’s Washington DC finish line, more and more people, especially foreigners, are asking themselves one question…

Who should I vote for???? Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton?

Lolade asked Nigerians based in New York City who they want the next United States President to be and this is what they had to say…

“Definitely not voting for Trump,” one young woman tells Lolade.

“Hilary…I think she has the experience. She has been there before,” a young man says.

“Do you know any Nigerians that are going to vote for Trump?”

“As a matter of fact I do. I have tried to talk her out of it. I have no clue what she sees in Trump,” one woman responds.

“I’m not voting for any of them. I don’t trust any of them so I’m not voting.”

“Hilary. I’m a Democrat. I don’t care what happens. I will always vote Democrat.”

“Would you leave America if Trump wins?” Lolade asked.

“Ermmmmm,” one lady wasn’t so sure.

“I’m going back to Nigeria…Immediately because that’s my home, I don’t want to take anymore insult from anybody,” one man proudly states.

Lolade asked the Nigerians how important the election is to them as Nigerians and she received a number of interesting answers. One lady was concerned about immigration laws as she has family back home and one man felt Nigerians are being “marginalized”.

What will YOU do if Trump wins the election?

Will you stop traveling to America?

If you’re already there, will you leave?

BattaBox hits the streets of London to ask people if spanking their child is wrong?

“Where I come from you have to give your child a slap for them to behave,” says one man. “But here, because of the social services, you have to be very careful.”

In the UK there are laws that prevent certain types of discipline by parents on their child, especially when it causes pain to the child. Otherwise known as corporal punishment, it can involve spanking your child, or striking them with a belt or slipper or hairbrush.

Social acceptance and laws in different countries around the world vary considerably but many international human rights organisations, such as the Committee on the Rights of the Child, advocate an end to all forms of corporal punishment. For example, in 1979, Sweden banned all physical punishment against children by parents, but in places such as Nigeria it is still very common.

On the streets of London it appears there are a considerable variety of views:

“It’s child abuse because it’s not nice to beat your child,” says one lady. “There are better ways to educate your child than spanking them.”

“Different countries have different ways of discipling their children,” says another lady.
