Today on The Hustle, BollyLomo works as an Area Boy famously called ‘Agbero’ in Nigeria. The Agbero’s are the local money collectors who collect money from commercial bus drivers and conductors once they load or drop a passenger at the bus stop.

“If your delivery money is not complete, they would hold you,” explains Bolly

The idea is to hassle and collect money from conductors or drivers as they approach the bus stop.

“Give am money, collect money,” one of the agbero’s yells at one conductor and bolly

The Agbero’s literally own the roads and the Bus stops so to do this job, you have to be very street wise and tough. Bolly further asks some of the area boy’s he worked with some questions about themselves.

“This job is not easy for a lazy person,” says Bolly’s Agbero boss “I started this work when i dropped out of school eight years ago,” he continued.

“If God sends me a helper, i’ll stop this Job,” replies another Agbero.

The Hustle helps us appreciate the little menial Lagos jobs people do for little income.
