On this week’s episode of Mama Put Chronicles, Adeola visits a highly recommended bukka between Opebi and Allen Avenue, Ikeja.

Her order?

Jollof rice, fish, egg and her favourite – beans.

Her comments?

“The customer care service was not fantastic…the place was neat…the table had cutlery…The place was really nice,” Adeola is impressed.

“The food was 500 naira and it was small! In this Buhari economy if we are going to spend 500 naira at least give me plenty food!” Adeola laments.

“The jollof rice was SPOT ON! You know that kind of jollof rice…wedding, party jollof rice? It had that smoke ingredient, that jollof rice that you know that it was sweat that made that jollof rice sweet! ” she adds.

Watch the video to find out whether you should dine at this bukka or stay far away!

Thanks for watching!

Nigerians travel around the world everyday and they try out different cuisines from western countries, but would still choose Nigerian food over every other meal any day. But do people in western countries know what Nigerian food actually taste like?

BattaBox presenter Lolade takes her oyinbo (white) friend Sean to a Nigerian restaurant in Staten Island, New York where he tries Nigerian food for the first time.

“I’m going to order you pounded yam, egusi soup and you have to try the jollof rice,” says lolade as she made her order.

To eat Nigerian food you have to have some certain skills, some of which are getting your hands dirty and knowing how to eat spicy or peppery food as Nigerians call it.

“Its slightly spicy but also sweet,” says Sean as he tried out the Jollof rice

“You have to eat it with all your fingers,” Lolade teaches him how to eat pounded yam.

But he then tried to use all ten fingers..lol

We don’t know how much Sean enjoyed the food, but he seemed satisfied.

Watch and enjoy…
