People in Lagos love fashion, and won’t hesitate to buy the best brands. But while some people spend lots of money to look glamorous, others spend far less to look just as glamorous by visiting a second hand market aka ‘bend down select’.

“Celebrities also come here to get their wears,” says Adeola jokingly

BattaBox presenter Adeola visits Katangua , one of the biggest and most populous second hand market in Lagos where you can find everything and anything you need for your wardrobe at a very low cost price.

“Jeans are sold for N500 (lesser than $2,” says one of the traders

The good thing about katangua market is that even as low as the prices are, you could still bargain with the trader for a good deal, be it children’s cloths ,jeans, tops, skirts, under wear, swim wears etc anything and everything is cheap.

“Swim suits cost N300 (less than a dollar)”

The most shocking was when Adeola discovered a shop where second hand wedding dresses are sold for close to nothing.

“You can get your wedding dresses here for N1,500 (less than $5),” says Adeola

Traders and sellers are surprisingly making lots of money from selling second hand cloths. One woman who sells swim suits tells her story…

“With this business i’ve educated my kids, built a house and bought a car,” she explains

Trust Adeola to buy a couple of things for herself.

SHOCKING: Nigerians Queue For Hours Just To Cross Bridge

Nigerians put their lives at risk everyday by crossing the express roads instead of using the overhead bridge, which results to people dying or getting badly injured. But why don’t people use the pedestrian bridge?

“It is for our own safety,” replies one man

The Lagos State government has decided to put a stop to road crossing, by putting barricades in the center of a major bus stop in Lagos ‘Ojota’, thereby forcing people to use the overhead bridge.

“I spent 25 mins, just to get across to this place,” says one man

BattaBox presenter Adeola visits Ojota bus stop in Lagos, where there have been commotion for days, to hear what people have to say about queuing to use the pedestrian bridge.

“They could have expanded the bridge,” complains one woman

This new development has caused more problems for pedestrians, as they have to queue for hours just to get to the other side of the road. Most people argue that too many people ply that route everyday, the bridge is too small and narrow and has no light to protect people on the bridge at night.

“A mad woman spat on my face on the bridge” yells one woman “They treat us like animals,” she continues

But some people are really pleased with the government’s decision

“New development, we like it,” says one guy

Nigeria’s Street Preachers Come To London

Nigerians are very religious people,therefore, street evangelism and preaching is known to Nigerians and Africans. The preachers stand on the streets, in the bus, and anywhere there is crowd to preach the gospel to people,and hand them flyers, but do they end up winning any souls?

“It is our duty as a Christian, to reach out to people that don’t know about Jesus,”

BattaBox presenter Mary discovered a Nigerian man Mr Chibuzor Johnson who preaches the gospel on the streets of London, he talks about his quest to win souls for Christ and the challenges he faces.

“Some people find it funny, they say i’m crazy, but some are very happy that i do it,” says Mr Johnson

Some months ago a fellow Nigerian man was kicked off the bus in London, by Londoners, for disturbing the peace of the bus with his preaching. Since the white man brought Christianity to Africa, does this mean people in London do not believe in God anymore?

“Londoners have derailed from the lord,” says Mr Johnson

Mary further asks some people how they feel about street evangelism.

“This is very good and fantastic, we have to go round and win souls for him,” says one woman

While others didn’t think street evangelism is necessary at all.

“Its not going to make me become a proper christian,” replies one guy

How to be a Waste Collector in Nigeria

Today on The Hustle, BattaBox presenter BollyLomo works as a street scavenger. He goes to the street to pick up waste materials that could be recycled, for sale.Some of the materials they pick up are empty milk containers, plastic bottles, etc

“Someone’s waste is another person’s precious gold”

After picking the waste materials, he then proceeds to the scrap yard to select the important stuff,crush it, weigh it and sell it for some cool cash, which ranges from N900 ($3) upwards, depending on how much work you can do in a day.

“All these things you throw away, people make a lot of money off it,” says Bolly

And sometimes one could even find something of importance like a piece of jewelry.

Africa’s First Solar Powered Football Pitch!

Nigeria has suffered from lack of power and electricity for years, therefore in a bid to bring solar energy fully into Nigeria, music superstar and solar entrepreneur, Akon, has teamed up with Shell to light up Nigeria using solar energy, by organizing Africa’s first solar powered football pitch in Lagos.

“We are using the energy of people playing soccer to generate power,” says one of the organizers.

BattaBox presenter Adeola attends the launch of the first ever players power pitch in Africa which took place at the Federal College of Education, Akoka, Lagos.

“The faster you run, the more energy can be created,”

The energy of people dancing, running, driving on the roads etc could create power to light up the roads and various parts of the city.

“You can even charge your phone with it,” says Adeola

The pitch was reconstructed by shell using over 90 underground tiles that capture kinetic energy created by the movement of the players.

This initiative is part of Akon’s commitment to teaching young Africans and Nigerians the importance of harnessing the continents renewable energy.

Nigerians March to BringBackOurGirls – Missing for 2 YEARS!

It has been two tears since 276 girls were kidnapped from their beds in a secondary school, by members of the insurgency group Boko Haram in Chibok, a Local Government area of Borno state in the northern part of Nigeria. Some of the girls managed to escape, but 219 girls are still missing.

“We are demanding our rights,” says one woman directing the protest

BattaBox presenter Adeola joined the #Bringbackourgirls rally in Ikeja, on a walk to the Lagos state Governor’s office on the second year anniversary since the girls got missing.

“Bring back our girls Now and Alive,” the protesters chanted as the marched to the Governors office.

After the girls were kidnapped in 2014, the whole world urged the Nigerian government to #Bringbackourgirls , and it was assumed that the girls were inside the Sambisa Forest with members of boko haram.

Some of the girls have been raped, some have babies and some have died but their families are still devastated and hoping they would see them again.

People are scared of the Nigerian prison because they could get tortured, maltreated, beaten etc by the Nigerian police and maybe catch a disease there due to its unsanitary state.

“I would have sex with my ex one last time,” one lady replies bluntly

But others would rather go to jail than be with their ex..

“I’ll spend a day in jail,” replies one guy “Its just a day, lets have fun in prison,” he continues

Do Nigerians think Donald Trump should be President of USA
