BattaBox presenter Odunayo and kayode travel to Epe, a district on the outskirts of Lagos to find the famous ‘Oluwo Meat Market’ where one can find different kinds of animals both dead or alive which people buy to eat.

In the previous episode, you could see where to buy bush animals like Antelopes, Bush dogs, Bush cats, Deers etc (Watch Below). In this part two video of the meat market, Odunayo shows where you can find reptiles and water animals which people eat.

“Nigerians and white people come to buy them,” says the crocodile seller

The mouths and hands of the crocodiles are mostly tied up to avoid them biting anyone or running away.

Odunayo spoke to a customer who just bought a Pangolin

“It is very very sweet,” says the man.

“If you taste the finished product, you’ll be charged,” says the palm wine tapper

BattaBox presenters,Kayode and Odunayo, still on their journey in Epe, discover a place where fresh palm wine and Ogogoro (gin) is made and processed deep in the jungle.

To make palm wine, one has to tap the juice from palm trees in the forest, before processing it into Gin. It could take days or weeks to perfect a batch but the end product turns out fabulous.

“It takes 3 – 5 days to tap the palm wine,” the palm wine tapper explains

Kayode shows and explains the steps to processing the Gin, and then tasted it a couple of times to confirm its the real thing.

“Sweet, delicious and just natural,” Kayode confirms

Palm wine is an alcoholic beverage created from the sap of various species of palm tree such as the palmyra, date palms, and coconut palms.
