My dad has been cheating on my mum for 13 years and I told my mum and she said she already knew. They are still together acting like nothing happened. He has been cheating on her with my second mum/guardian. Up until now he is still cheating but hiding it always talking to my second mum in Yoruba Sony mum who is Jamaican won’t hear. I can never look at my dad the same way. Don’t get me wrong he is a good dad but when it comes to relationships etc he is not loyal and faithful. I hv tried my best to talk normal to him like daughter and father but it’s not working. I am a female as well and it hurts me that he is doing this. I hvnt spoken to him in like two months coz I just pretend everything is alright and he doesn’t even call or text without me doing so first. Cheating is unacceptable whether your female or male.

I love and respect both of my parents, but I would speak to my father first… Depending on his response ( if he admitted to cheating) I would definitely tell my mother…His cheating does more than break her heart, it puts her at risk for STDs which can be life threatened…

From watching this it seems like the mothers are expected to stay and if they leave they are breaking up the family, yet the father doesn’t think about the consequences of his cheating on the family and the destruction it brings. Very selfishIn this day and age if my father cheated on my mother I would be the first to tell her, with all the STI’s out there I refuse to let him bring HIV home. I would rather my mother drink garri with peace of mind and good health than be with a cheating husband who provides a 6 course meal for dinner each night but also jeopardizes her physical health, mental health and overall well-being.
