As usual spot on citizen journalism at battabox, deeply saddened by the
condition of things although it is not very surprising? I mean I am
surprised Nigerians are surprised?

Of course price shocks are a scary thing but did no one expect to endure at
some point the consequence of decade upon decade of ‘financial’ corruption
in government?

The irony though, the elite group of people some of the members of public
were so quick to defend do not endure the same hardships of the average
Nigerian.

Oil is a curse. Countries without Oil has well diversified economies that
are able to withstand economic downturns better. Nigeria needs to work on
diversifying its economy. More agriculture is the key because agriculture
provides multiplier effects in many industries.. Naija needs to trim it
wage bill and get serious on improving the economy. So far I think no
Jonathan or Buhari should be blamed. What needs to be interrogated is why
there isn’t any funds left during oil boom days to help the economy during
downturn

Many Nigerians are so uninformed that they actually thinks it’s buhari
regime that caused the hardship we are currently experiencing.. maybe his
policies in trying to curb the situation but he’s not the cause of the
problem.
Nobody is saying that when d price of crude oil was 110 under Jonathan that
we didn’t save,rather the money was shared amongst the thieves in abuja on
a monthly bases.
Nobody is saying that the price of oil under Jonathan has gone from 110 to
29 dollars as of the time buhari took over .
Nobody is saying that we are a country that exports nothing and imports
everything.

u can tell the last young lady is not currant with politics and
commonsense. how can u be the cause of foods going up cost of living jobs.
why would I blame myself ? that’s why u hv a government to set the
standards has to be the previous and current government the blame .the
problems u hv are not the same for your elected official.money is not their
problem .they are all corrupt. they come in hungry by their term ends they
are full.
