The Survival of a Henna Tattoo Artist

In today’s video, our presenter, Jumael discovered Kehinde, who is a henna artist. Kenny is a 27 years old artist, birthed in a family so gifted with twins that his mother gave birth to twins thrice. He has been surviving school through thick and thin but got to a point when he needed more money for survival, school projects, and many other things.

That, was when he discovered his given talent has an artist who had to practice the art of henna making. He has found his ground by perfecting this art and has been living with the money he makes through this art

Henna is a reddish-brown coloring which is made from a flowering plant that grows in the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and Asia. Back in the days, till present, henna as been used by people to dye the skin, hair, fingernails, leather, silk, and wool.

The henna artistry has been practiced for thousands of years from Pakistan to Africa, from as long ago as the ancient Egyptians. The dark blue ink comes from henna leaves which have natural healing properties.

But Henna is mostly in this present day, done by the people of the Northern part of Nigeria. And it is also referred to as “Lali”.
